You already are a master of wearing striped, solid, and paisley neckties, and you are even known to throw on a trendy plaid piece from time to time. While those four patterns certainly fill a wide range of "tie mixing & matching needs", we think there is one crucial pattern missing to complete your wardrobe. We are talking about polka dot, and its smaller brother, the pin-dot pattern. Inspired by some of Chevalier's and Cantucci's latest necktie collections featuring these two related patterns, we created a Pinterest board dedicated to nothing else but polka dot ties. From this board we wanted to feature a handful of our favorite outfits with some pointers of what makes each look unique and stylish. As a general rule: The smaller and more delicate the pattern, the more formal it will appear - meaning pin dots are usually more formal than polka dots.

Linen neckties are perfect for spring and summer. The elegant gray, charcoal, and white color combination is paired with a playful polka dot pattern and summer fabrics. The cardigan sweater and button down collar add a casual touch. 

Another great summer look: Skinny knit ties featuring a playful polka dot pattern. The cream colored suit, light blue pin-striped shirt, and lilac/white linen pocket square perfectly compliment the summer look. Wear this to the next wedding you are invited to.

The pin-dot tie is a bit more formal than the larger-scale polka dots. Here designer Tom Ford shows how to perfectly add a pin-dot patterned tie to a formal/sophisticated ensemble. We especially like the use of the collar bar as well as the Chevron pattern pocket square.
