About us

Bows-N-Ties began back in 2009 when founder and CEO Hendrik Pohl, inspired by his own dapper father’s German necktie business, set his mind to become the largest online retailer of men’s neckwear in the world.

Bows-N-Ties started out of a small San Francisco 700 sq foot studio apartment in 2009. Soon, more and more inventory took over the space and within a year it was time to move to a larger warehouse space in San Francisco's vibrant SOMA district where the company had its operations until 2022.

Our success of Bows-N-Ties was marked by its inclusion as #459 on the list of INC500’s Fastest Growing and Most Innovative Companies in America. Today our collection encompasses thousands of designs in any imaginable fabric, cut, print, and pattern. Our goal is to continue this rapid growth by always improving our quality, innovating new designs, and providing friendly customer service with a flexible return policy. Besides men's ties we have also expanded into vests, suspenders, ladies scarves, and chef apparel. Our continued growth in sales and new collections required us to move to a larger space again in Summer 2022. We now run our operations, design, customer service, and all order fulfillment out of our warehouse in Benicia, CA.

Hendrik – President/CEO

Hendrik likes ties. In fact, he likes ties a lot. Needless to say, when he started Bows-N-Ties back in 2009 he turned his passion into his job. Hendrik overseas production and design, sources new fabrics in Italy and China, and handles the business development of our company. When he is not thinking about ties, then he is probably thinking about ties or avocados.

Jason Marcia - Operations Manager

Jason and his team makes sure that that all merchandize is sorted correctly and that orders ship out as fast as possible to our customers all over the world.

Cole Crossen - Creative Director

Cole works together with Hendrik on new collections. He also does all creative work on our website, photo editing, and more.
